Both teams had spells of possession and had plenty of chances in front of goal but weren’t clinical enough in the final third.

The Foxes secured their first draw of the season which leaves them bottom of the table on seven points, but only one point off Brighton. Everton are sat 13 points ahead in 6th place in the WSL table.

Leicester started off strong by pressing Everton in their own half but were unable to make any meaningful chances in the toffees' half within the first five minutes.

Just before the ten-minute mark, Hanna Bennison carried the ball forward, the young swede charged at the Leicester defence, but her effort was deflected away.

The best chance of the half fell to Siemsen, Hannah Cain closed down the Everton defence and won the ball off Nathalie Bjorn. Cain played in the Australian forward, but the angle was too tight, and her shot curled just wide of the far post.

Everton made their first substitution in the 36th minute as 19-year-old forward Aggie Beever-Jones came on for Norweigan defender Elise Stenevik

The first-half ended 0-0 in an end to end game with chances falling for both sides.

Less than a minute into the second half and referee Stacey Fullicks went down injured after a collision with the ball, but she was cleared by the physio and continued.

Less than ten minutes later, Everton made an attacking change with Danish left-back Katrine Veje replacing midfielder Hanna Bennison.

In the 59th minute, Snoeijs found herself free in the box, but Leicester keeper Leitzig made an incredible save using her feet to deny the Dutch striker.

With less than 20 minutes to play, Leicester made their first change of the game, a straight swap, as Siemsen was replaced by 20-year-old forward Missy Goodwin.

Leicester's best chance of the game came in the 84th minute, when Carrie Jones crossed the ball into Missy Goodwin who was clear in the box, but her first-time shot fell wide of the goal.

Five minutes later, Beever-Jones' shot from close range was stopped by an outstanding save from Bayern Munich loanee Leitzig, before Christiansen's shot went wide.

Beever-Jones was fouled on the edge of the box and Everton had a free kick in the 94th minute. Sørensen floated the ball into the box and Beever-Jones connected with a header but the ball fired over the bar.

In the final minute of the game, Carrie Jones crossed the ball behind the Everton defenders to Hannah Cain, but her effort fell wide of the post.

The game finished 0-0, chances fell for both teams, but neither were clinical enough to put them away in the final third.

City are now unbeaten in three out of the last five games they’ve played, a side with newfound confidence and fight.
